Good Morning! I wanted to share a little this morning about discouragement and encouragement. Sometimes, especially during the middle of the week, we can get discouraged. We get tired and worn down, trying to make it to the weekend. If we start a difficult task, we may feel like giving up. Discouragement is a disease, a bad disease and it’s universal. Its reoccurring and its contagious, but it’s curable.

My husband spoke of an old fable one Sunday Morning; he sometimes opens with prayer and is our Sunday School Teacher. He said, one day the devil was auctioning off his tools. But there was one tool marked not for sale. He was auctioning off fear, hatred, pride, envy, lust; but there was a strange looking tool there, well-worn. Somebody asked, ‘Why is this tool not for sale?’

Devil said, ‘I can’t afford to sale that one, it’s my most valuable tool. That’s discouragement. I use it often to slip in, and when I pry a man’s heart open with discouragement, then I can do almost anything I want to do.’

Discouragement has always been one of satan’s chief tools.

Think of God’s goodness in the past. If you’re discouraged, just think of all that God has done for you. See how faithful God has been to you and remember God’s closeness in the present. If you’re going through something right now, remember the Lord.

Is your problem greater than God?

Of course not. Encourage yourself in the Lord. We need to also encourage each other because each of us fight that daily spiritual battle and it’s not easy a lot of times. You’re not alone.

Psalm 31:24 KJV “Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the Lord.”
