Last night our preacher asked us what our favorite bible verse. Now, back in the day, I thought about getting a tattoo of such subject. So at that time I thought and would google to see which verse really stuck to me. I then decided there were so many, so I thought, I would just get a tattoo starting with Genesis 1:1 – Revelation 22:21 because that would cover everything. No I didn’t get the tattoo if you were wondering.

Anyways, today, as I have studied more and more, I cannot pin point an all time favorite verse, but I can pick out a favorite verse for whatever situation I’m in or what may speak to me for a certain time or day. Lately, my favorite verse is Psalm 139:8,

“If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.”

The more I study this one verse, the more it speaks to me.

For me, I feel like I’ve been to the darkest place, yet God was still there, even when I didn’t acknowledge him at that moment. He was with me and saved me from Satan’s grasp. When my mind plumets, it makes a bed in hell, Satan tucking in the sheets as I lay there feeling like there isn’t a use to get up. I can’t think of any lower place to be. Even in the saddle, when Satan is riding us, we feel we can buck him off. But in the bed, feels like a grave of agony and pain, where the mind is on fire with thoughts.

But I remember God is with me, and my thoughts go to him, walking and guiding me, taking me into his arms, a comforter bringing rest in dark low times. Peace in times of trouble when I’m trying to figure out how to get out of the bed Satan has lead me to.

Usually in our high times, we give thanks to God, knowing he is with us bringing us out of low times. But it’s when at our lowest, in the bed of hell, for a moment we forget he is with us still. Sometimes we even question to him, where are you?, why have you forgotten me during my pain?, but he hasn’t forgotten you.

So when things are hard, we must ALWAYS remember that God is with us, no matter where we go or end up. God has no limitations, he can reach you wherever you are in the world, there is nothing that can stop HIS will, especially not Satan.
